Teachers and Other Support Staff
The Special Education Support Team members are professionally certified staff who have a specialized area. The team works with all 14 campuses' student population towards making improvement in their overall development.
Adaptive Physical Education teacher works with the students to improve their gross and fine motor skills while also encouraging the development of individual and team lifetime sport activities through Special Olympics.
The Vision Impaired teacher works with students who are identified as visually impaired to ensure that the academic content is provided to best meet the child’s individual needs.
The itinerant teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing works with students who are identified as deaf/hard of hearing to ensure that the academic content is provided to best meet the child’s individual needs.
The Behavior Strategist is responsible for working with and helping to implement social skills and behavior IEPs of students with autism. The Behavior Strategist assists students to identify inappropriate behavior and develop appropriate actions for good interpersonal skills as well as assist the campus in developing a behavior plan for the students and evaluating the effectiveness of the plan. The Behavior Strategist is also responsible for providing support to teachers, staff, and parents/guardians for these students.
The physical therapist is responsible for assessing the need for physical therapy as well as implementing the PT IEPs of students who qualify for this related service. This physical therapist is also responsible for providing support to the special and general education teachers of these students in regards to any classroom needs stemming for the student’s needs in this area.
