Phonemic/Phonological Awareness

Awareness of and a sensitivity with the ability to manipulate individual phonemes (sounds) in spoken words.

Phonics (Decoding) Resources

Knowledge of letter sounds and the ability to apply that knowledge when reading unfamiliar printed words.

Fluency

Fluency is reading grade appropriate text accurately, with ease, and reasonable speed that is; fluent reading also has good intonations and prosody.

		Vocabulary Knowledge of the meaning of individual words.

		Comprehension The ability to understand language that has been read that includes the process of making meaning and links in the text read or listen to.
