The fall team tennis season was a success; we finished with a record of 10-4. This was rewarding after having spent the summer at practice in our courts. We had contributions from all our varsity team members as they worked hard to make the season memorable. We qualified for the playoffs this year and will be facing Edinburg Vela on Monday at a Bi district level and were hoping to advance to the next round.
Our two spotlight players are Giselle Garza and Ivan Verduzco. They have both been on the varsity squad for their four years here at LFHS and have contributed greatly to the success of the team. They both compete in USTA tournaments outside of the school environment and are regularly successful as they were last week when they participated in and won the Gema Mixed Doubles Adult Tournament demonstrating their love of competition as well as regularly winning against their opponents as we compete in Team Tennis.
