LOS FRESNOS, TX — Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) is proud to announce it has been recognized as a 2025 Texas Honor Roll District by Educational Results Partnership (ERP). In addition to the district-wide honor, 10 Los Fresnos CISD campuses were named Texas Honor Roll Schools, placing the district among the top-performing school systems in the state.
The Texas Honor Roll recognizes public schools and districts that demonstrate strong academic performance, consistent improvement over time, and success in closing achievement gaps—particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations.
The following Los Fresnos CISD campuses were named as 2025 Honor Roll recipients:
- Los Cuates Middle School
- Los Fresnos Elementary
- Villareal Elementary
- Lopez-Riggins Elementary
- Resaca Middle School
- Palmer-Laakso Elementary
- Laureles Elementary
- Olmito Elementary
- Rancho Verde Elementary
- Dora Romero Elementary
“This recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work happening every day across our district,” said Dr. Gonzalo Salazar, Superintendent of Schools for Los Fresnos CISD. “Our teachers, campus leaders, staff, students, and families are committed to high expectations and continuous improvement, and we are incredibly proud to see that work recognized at the state level.”
ERP released the 2025 Texas Honor Roll after analyzing publicly available STAAR data from the Texas Education Agency for the 2023–2025 school years. This marks the 11th year ERP has produced the Honor Roll, which identifies schools and districts that are making a meaningful impact on student achievement across all student groups.
This year, 1,076 schools and 84 districts across Texas earned Honor Roll recognition—representing approximately 15 percent of schools and 14.5 percent of districts statewide.
Los Fresnos CISD’s recognition as both an Honor Roll District and for multiple Honor Roll campuses highlights the district’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, equity, and preparing students for future success.
