Winter Sports Spotlight: Falcon Golf 2026

The Los Fresnos Golf team delivered an outstanding 2025–2026 season, establishing itself as one of the most successful programs in recent school history. Through consistent performances, strong leadership, and competitive excellence, the team earned multiple tournament championships and podium finishes, making this season one to remember.

Team Success – 2025–2026 Season

The Los Fresnos Golf Team demonstrated depth and determination throughout the year with impressive team results, including:

  • Tournament Champions: Los Fresnos Invitational, Harlingen Invitational, South Padre Island Invitational, BISD Invitational
  • Tournament Runner-Up Finishes: Weslaco Invitational, Los Fresnos Invitational, BISD Invitational

These achievements were driven by a complete team effort and highlighted by the exceptional performances of two standout student-athletes from the Class of 2026: Avy Martinez and Levi Bennett.

Student Spotlights

Avy Martinez – Class of 2026

Avy Martinez continued to establish herself as one of the region’s premier golfers during the 2025–2026 season. A biology major committed to Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she will enroll in Fall 2026, Avy captured individual titles at the Harlingen Invitational and South Padre Island Invitational, while also earning a second-place finish at the BISD Invitational. A two-time 32-6A District Champion and 2023–2024 District MVP, Avy is also a three-time First-Team All-District selection and a First-Team All-Valley honoree. Her consistency and competitive drive played a key role in the team’s dominance.

Levi Bennett – Class of 2026


Levi Bennett served as a cornerstone of the Winter Golf program throughout the 2025–2026 season. Committed to Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, where he plans to major in Political Science beginning in Fall 2026, Levi earned individual champion honors at the South Padre Island Invitational and placed fifth at the BISD Invitational. A two-time 32-6A District MVP and 2024–2025 District Champion, Levi is also a two-time First-Team All-Valley selection and holds multiple school records, including a lowest single-round score of 67 and a two-day tournament score of 138, six under par. His precision and leadership continue to set the standard for the program.
