Los Fresnos CISD to Host Inaugural Athletic Hall of Honor Celebration

The spirit of Falcon pride will shine bright on Saturday, December 6, as Los Fresnos CISD hosts its inaugural Athletic Hall of Honor (HOH) celebration at the LFCISD Performing Arts Center (PAC). The two-part event, organized in partnership with the LFCISD Education Foundation, will honor the district’s first-ever class of inductees — a special group that includes six individual athletes, one coach, and two teams whose contributions have helped define the legacy of Falcon athletics.

The evening begins with a celebratory dinner from 6:00–7:00 p.m. ($25 per plate), followed by the official induction ceremony from 7:00–9:00 p.m. ($15 admission). Both events will bring together alumni, families, and community members to celebrate decades of athletic excellence, teamwork, and school pride.

Proceeds from the event will directly benefit students and teachers through the LFCISD Education Foundation, ensuring the celebration gives back to the very community it honors.

“This event is a true celebration of Falcon history,” said LFCISD Athletic Director David Cantu. “We’re proud to honor those who have set the standard for excellence in our athletic programs and inspired generations of student-athletes to dream big, work hard, and represent Los Fresnos with pride.”

The LFCISD Education Foundation, which played a vital role in bringing this vision to life, sees the Hall of Honor as more than an event—it’s an enduring tradition that celebrates achievement and community.

“Supporting this inaugural Hall of Honor is a natural extension of our mission,” said Adan Garcia,  President of the LFCISD Education Foundation. “It not only honors the individuals and teams who built a legacy of success, but also helps fund scholarships that empower the next generation of Falcons.”

The inaugural class of inductees includes:

  • 1964 Falcon Football Team
  • 2014 Lady Falcon Volleyball Team
  • Corina Cox (Class of 2013)
  • Leonel Garza (Class of 1968)
  • Javier Medina (Class of 1990)
  • Cathi Netemeyer (Class of 2000)
  • Jeremy Springer (Class of 2007)
  • Justin Springer (Class of 2007)
  • Coach Scott Ford

The Los Fresnos CISD Athletic Hall of Honor was created to recognize, preserve, and celebrate the achievements of exceptional athletes, coaches, and teams who have made a lasting impact on the district’s rich athletic history. This year’s induction marks the beginning of a new tradition—one that celebrates the past while inspiring the future of Falcon athletics.
