The 2025 Los Fresnos Lady Falcons Varsity Volleyball Team has had an outstanding season with a record of 20-10 overall and 6-2 in district. Under the leadership of Head Coach Anissa Lucio, who recently celebrated her 300th career win, the Falcons have continued their tradition of excellence on the court.
This season, the Lady Falcons were crowned BISD Tournament Champions, with Lyla Trejo earning Tournament MVP honors. The team also captured the District Championship title and is now playoff bound, set to face Edinburg North High School on Thursday, October 30, in Edinburg.
Athlete Spotlights:
Senior, Emily Cargill – 3-Year Letterman
Last week’s spotlight shined on senior and three-year varsity letterman Emily Cargill. A standout leader on and off the court, Emily’s dedication and work ethic have fueled her success. This year, she surpassed 1,000 career kills, adding to an already impressive résumé that includes 32-6A MVP, Lower Valley Hitter of the Year, and multiple All-Tournament honors. Emily has committed to continue her volleyball career at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
Senior, Isa Delacruz – 2-Year Letterman
Senior Isa Delacruz earns this week’s spotlight for her resilience and consistency as a two-year varsity letterman. A key contributor on both offense and defense, Isa overcame an early-season injury with determination and continues to lead by example. Her drive and team-first attitude make her a vital part of the Lady Falcons. Isa plans to pursue a career in Nursing.
Junior, Jaylynn Brown
Junior Jaylynn Brown is also in this week’s spotlight after surpassing 1,000 career assists in just one season — an incredible accomplishment that highlights her talent and leadership as a setter. Jaylynn was recognized following the Lady Falcons’ win over the Hanna Eagles this past Saturday, a victory that secured the District Championship title for Los Fresnos. Her court vision and consistency have been key to the team’s success this season.

The success didn’t stop with Varsity — both our JV Light and Freshman Dark teams also captured District Championship titles! Their hard work, teamwork, and determination reflect the strength and depth of the entire Lady Falcons Volleyball program.
