The "Leader Feature" at Los Fresnos CISD honors staff members who exemplify the district's core values, as outlined in the Profile of a Leader: Serve Others, Foster Growth, Promote Innovation, and Leave a Legacy.
The first honoree of this award is Minerva "Mine" Hernandez, who has dedicated an extraordinary 55 years of service to the District.
Nominated by Noé Guillen, Grants and Compliance Director, Mrs. Hernandez’s leadership continues to serve as a model for excellence, making her a true embodiment of the Profile of a Leader.
Mr. Guillen wrote the following in his nomination for Mrs. Hernandez:
“Mrs. Minerva Hernandez, a dedicated educator and employee of the LFCISD school district, has recently celebrated an incredible 54 years of service. Her unwavering commitment to the staff and students of the district has made a lasting impact on the community.
Beginning her career in 1970 at Villareal Elementary under the guidance of Principal Alfredo L. Villareal, Mrs. Hernandez served as an instructional aide for 22 years. She then transitioned to the Title One Reading Lab and library, where she continued to support students' educational growth.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Hernandez has demonstrated exceptional dedication and loyalty to the district. She has worked in various departments, including Guidance and Counseling under the leadership of Mary Martha Miller, and the Grant Admin and Compliance office at DSC. Her strong work ethic, determination to maintain compliance, and willingness to assist campus personnel have been invaluable assets to the district.
Mrs. Hernandez's charisma and positive attitude have made her a beloved colleague. Her dedication to serving others, promoting innovation, and leaving a lasting legacy is truly inspiring. We are grateful for her many years of service and the positive impact she has made on the LFCISD community.”
