During the summer, we shared the news that there would be a temporary relocation of the Laureles Elementary School campus.
This summer crews began work on a complete renovation of the Laureles Elementary air conditioning and heating system. Unfortunately, tropical storms have caused a delay in the completion of this project. This has necessitated a temporary relocation of Laureles Elementary School. Laureles Elementary will temporarily relocate to the former Los Cuates Middle School. This is a temporary move while crews work to complete this project and ensure a comfortable learning environment for our students.
District departments have worked diligently to prepare the former Los Cuates Middle School for this transition. The space has been successfully converted into a positive learning space, complete with newly moved-in furniture and renovated facilities to support Laureles students' needs.
Campus teachers and staff have already started accessing the building and remain committed to ensuring that the temporary relocation will not impact the quality of education your child receives.
Traffic Flow Information
Campus administration, in collaboration with the Los Fresnos CISD Transportation Department, is actively working on a comprehensive plan to manage traffic flow in and out of the temporary campus. Every effort is being made to ensure a smooth and efficient drop-off and pick-up process to minimize any disruptions. Please see the the attached maps for detailed information.
Tour the Temporary Campus
We are excited to offer an opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with the temporary campus at the upcoming Elementary Round-Up on Friday, August 9. During this event, you will be able to tour the former Los Cuates Middle School and see firsthand the preparations that have been made to create a welcoming and effective learning environment. Staff members will be available to answer any questions you may have and provide information about the temporary relocation.
