The Los Fresnos CISD Family Engagement Department will host their second annual family symposium at Resaca Middle School on Saturday, February 10, 2024 .
This year’s theme, “We Shine Together”, reflects the connection between families and the school community. The symposium will include presentation sessions dedicated to education, family wellness, and creating connections.
“Our family symposium is an opportunity to highlight community resources and showcase topics that impact our school families,” said Claudia Medina-Garcia, Family Engagement Coordinator.
Parents will be able to choose from a number of sessions from district and community presenters that include topics like literacy, family roles and values, mental health, special services, and financial literacy, among others.
Additionally, there will be free child-care for children ages 4-12 during sessions and breakfast and lunch provided for all attendees.
A community resource fair will also be available, with various agencies as well as district employment opportunities through the Los Fresnos CISD Human Resources department.
A district support team will also be available to provide parents with information on registration requirements and answer any questions regarding the registration process. Registration for students new to the district for the 2024-2025 school year begins February 14.
