2023 Los Fresnos CISD Summer Meals

Los Fresnos, May 25, 2023--The Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District will offer free meals for children to be enjoyed at ten locations during Summer 2023. The meals are made possible through the National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option (SSO). The program, funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), will provide nutritious and well-balanced meals for all children 18 years of age and younger at no charge.

The free summer meals will be distributed under the direction of Los Fresnos CISD Child Nutrition Services and partner distributer Southwest Foodservice Excellence (SFE). The foodservice management company works with CNS to ensure that meals maintain USDA nutrition standards and compliance, including proteins, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy.

Meals that are provided must be consumed on-site at approximately ten sites in Los Fresnos. They include three Los Fresnos CISD schools and seven additional sites in the city (see flyers). Lunch will be available at all locations with breakfast at limited spots. For additional information, locations, dates, and times, see the attached flyer or contact Los Fresnos CISD Child Nutrition Services (956) 254-5055.
