The Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District announces the expansion of the district’s Executive Administration cabinet

The Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District announces the expansion of the district’s Executive Administration cabinet to include two Deputy Superintendents, a Chief Academic Officer, and a new Executive Director.  The positions were recommended by Superintendent Gonzalo Salazar and approved by the Board of Trustees in the summer of 2022.  The following cabinet members start serving in their new roles immediately for the 2022-23 school year:

 

Deputy Superintendent of Student Services and Principal Support

Ada Amaro

 

Mrs. Ada Amaro-Sibaja serves Los Fresnos CISD as the Deputy Superintendent for Student Services and Principal Support.  She has been part of Los Fresnos CISD family since 1999.

Mrs. Amaro-Sibaja has 28 years in public education.  Her career in public education includes service as a teacher, Assistant Principal at Villareal Elementary, Principal at Villareal Elementary,  and Principal at Rancho Verde Elementary.  She most recently served as the Executive Director for Support Services for 10 years.  

Mrs. Amaro-Sibaja holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas-Pan American and a Master of Education degree and Superintendent certificate from The University of Texas at Brownsville.

 

 

Deputy Superintendent of Operations and Principal Support

Jimmy McDonough

 

Mr. Jimmy McDonough presently serves the students and staff of Los Fresnos CISD as Deputy Superintendent of Operations and Principal Support. Mr. McDonough has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2003. 
 
Mr. McDonough has 29 years of experience in education. He brings 10 years of experience as a varsity high school coach and teacher. He started his administrative career as an Assistant Principal at Los Fresnos High School and later served as the Principal of Resaca Middle School and as Principal at Los Fresnos United. Mr. McDonough then moved to the District Service Center as Director of Special Services. After five years as Special Services Director, he transitioned to Executive Director for Academics and served in that role for five years. 
 
Mr. McDonough earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis (Mass.) University and earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from The University of Texas at Brownsville. 

 

Chief Academic Officer

Valarie Londrie

Mrs. Valarie Londrie serves the students and staff of Los Fresnos CISD as Executive Director for Academics. She has been a part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2000.

During her career in public education, she has served as a teacher, Reading Specialist, Assistant Principal, Principal at Olmito Elementary, Executive Director, and now Chief Academic Officer.

Londrie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University and received her Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from The University of Texas at Brownsville. She has also completed the Superintendent Certification program at Lamar University.

 

Chief Financial Officer

Pablo Bazaldua, III

Mr. Pablo Bazaldua presently serves the students and staff of Los Fresnos CISD as Chief Financial Officer.  Mr. Bazaldua has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2017. 

Mr. Bazaldua has 26 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and Auditing.  He brings 20 years of experience as an external Audit Manager.  He started at Los Fresnos CISD as Finance Director in 2017.  After 2 years, he earned the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2019. 

Mr. Bazaldua earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University Kingsville.

 

Executive Director of Personnel Services and Talent Development

Dr. Jennifer Stumbaugh

 

Dr. Jennifer Stumbaugh presently serves the students and staff Los Fresnos CISD as Executive Director of Personnel Services and Talent Development. Dr. Stumbaugh has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family for 12 years.  

 

She has 20 years of experience in education. She brings 13 years of experience in campus administration, including serving as principal at Rancho Verde Elementary and Los Fresnos United. She mostly recently served as the Director of Professional Learning for three years.  

 

Dr. Jennifer Stumbaugh earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Southwest Texas State University, a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from UTRGV and an Ed. D. in Educational Administration and Human Resources from Texas A&M University. 

 

The six-person Executive Administration cabinet will be rounded out by the Executive Director for Support Services, who will be named at a later date.
