A trio of students from LFHS and LFU advanced to the Business Professionals of America (BPA) Texas State Leadership Conference after finishing at the top of their groups at Area 2, Region 3 Conference.

Their results from the Area 2, Region 3 Conference are as follows:

  • Yvette Zapata, Senior: First Place -- in Network Administration using CISCO.
  • Isabelle Saldana, Sophomore: Second Place -- Human Resource Management.
  • Hannia Garcia, Junior: Fourth Place -- Business Law & Ethics.

The girls traveled to the BPA State Leadership Conference held at the Fort Worth Convention Center during March 2-5, 2022 to compete in their respective events.  Yvette Zapata also served as a BPA Intern during the conference, assisting BPA State Board Members with competitive events. Isabelle Saldana participated as a voting delegate to elect 2022-2023 BPA State Officers and BPA Texas National Representatives.  The experience will help Saldana who herself is considering a run for a BPA state officer slot next year. The team is under the direction of their sponsor, Janice Lester.  Congratulations to the girls on their success!
