Los Fresnos CISD’s Students participate in 2022 Texas DECA State Career Development Conference in Houston, TX

Los Fresnos CISD’s CTE Department is pleased to share with you information about the recent 2022 Texas DECA State Career Development Conference in Houston, TX.

There were 27 students from Los Fresnos CISD who attended and competed in categories sourced from Business Management & Administration, Finance, Hospitality & Tourism, and Marketing. Their competition includes a category cluster exam and formal presentation of business solutions and ideas.

Texas DECA is one of the biggest student organizations amongst the USA. Furthermore, our competition at the state level is quite the load. This year we proudly announce our successors who placed.

In the Community Giving Project Management category our semifinalists include the team:  Emma Caraveo, Karla Jimenez, and Roberta Torres

In the Principles of Marketing our state finalist moving on to International competition in Atlanta, GA is first year member and senior, Elyssa Guerra.

In an even more recent update, as of Monday, it has been announced that Roberta Torres (sophomore) will be serving as the 2022-23 District 1 President.

We are very excited with all the recent accomplishments the DECA chapters of Los Fresnos CISD have acquired. To say we have a strong returning team next year is an understatement!

The DECA chapters are under the direction of Ms. Mindy Quiroz and Mr. Miguel Corona. Students interested in joining DECA are eligible as early as 9th grade. Contact Los Fresnos United or Los Fresnos High School for more information.
