Students Take Part In Digital Citizenship Activities

[LOS FRESNOS, TX, October 19] This week, Los Fresnos CISD schools will celebrate how they’re teaching students 21st century skills and build community enthusiasm for teaching digital citizenship.

“Today, more than ever before- our students are connected and online. The Digital Citizenship Week focus this year will be on the social and emotional wellbeing of our students,” said Victoria Portier, Library Media Coordinator for Los Fresnos CISD. Los Fresnos CISD celebrates Digital Citizenship Week to re-engage students around how technology impacts their lives, and how they can use technology to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Learning never stops, and neither does digital citizenship. Teaching students digital skills and inviting them to reflect on how media and technology affect their daily lives is essential to helping them connect with the world around them. Digital Citizenship week is the perfect time to engage our students around these essential life skills using resources from Common Sense Education.

Los Fresnos CISD is dedicated to helping students thrive in the world of media and technology- to help shape the world where change is the only constant. We will provide students with tools that can empower them to use technology appropriately. Our students will become digital citizens that know how to safely, effectively, ethically, and respectfully harness the power of technology in a world that is connected.
