Early voting for District Bond Election Underway

Early voting in the $63 million Los Fresnos CISD Bond Election begins April 19 and will continue until April 27. The general election  May 1, 2021.

Early Voting will be held at four locations from April 19-27:

  • Los Fresnos Community Building, 204 Brazil St., Los Fresnos
    • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, April 19-23
    • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 24
    • 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 26-27
  • Olmito Elementary School, 2500 Arroyo Blvd., Brownsville
    • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, April 19-23
    • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 24
    • 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 26-27
  • Rancho Verde Elementary, 101 Rancho Alegre Dr., Brownsville
    • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, April 19-23
    • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 24
    • 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 26-27
  • Resaca Middle School, 33422 FM 1575, Los Fresnos
    • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, April 19-23
    • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 24
    • 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 26-27

The major components of the bond program include the following:

  • Build new middle school
  • Build new Multi-Purpose Facility
  • Renovate and convert Los Cuates Middle School to CTE Center
  • Build all-weather track at Liberty Memorial Middle School
  • Upgrades and renovations at LFHS to mirror facilities at Los Fresnos United
  • Complete Los Fresnos United Master Plan: NJROTC Building, Lecture Hall, complete Athletic Fields
  • West Campus Central Plant equipment replacement for air quality improvement

“Our ability to operate fiscally responsibly over the years has now landed us in a position to be able to add several needed facilities and make renovations to others all without raise the tax rate,” Superintendent Gonzalo Salazar said. “We know that these additions and renovations will help us continue to deliver on a mission of delivering a quality educational experience for all students.”

Election Day polling places will be held at three locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 1:

    • Precinct 2, Part of Precinct 99: Las Yescas Elementary, 23413 FM 803, San Benito
    • Precinct 3 and 109; Parts of Precincts 50, 59, 65, 66, and 67: Los Fresnos Community Building, 204 N. Brazil St., Los Fresnos
    • Precincts 88, 95, 100, 105; Parts of Precincts 4, 14, 48, 74, 102 and 108: Villarreal Elementary, 7700 E. Lakeside Blvd., Olmito
