Los Fresnos Middle School Band Program Hosts Successful Joint Camp

The Los Fresnos CISD middle school band program has wrapped up a successful joint camp.

The inaugural Middle School Band Camp brought together 150 incoming seventh and eighth grade students from Los Cuates, Liberty Memorial, and Resaca Middle schools.

Students received specialized small group instrumental instruction from the LFCISD Band Director staff. They also began learning their music for All-Valley Auditions in the fall, and later combined to form the LFCISD Middle School Band Camp Band. They performed 4 selections at a concert to end the program.

The camp, hosted at Los Cuates Middle School, took place over three days, from May 30th to June 1st. It was overseen by LFCISD Director of Music/Head Band Director Andy Salois, with assistance from the three middle school Band Directors, including Crissy Marroquin-Morrell, Abel Gomez, and Bernie Alejandro.

Director staff, and also began learning their music for All-Valley Auditions in the fall.

Students also combined to form the LFCISD Middle School Band Camp Band which rehearsed and performed 4 selections at the end of camp concert held in the Los Cuates Gym.
