Staff checking internet access throughout district

District staff has been busy testing internet access at homes and neighborhoods in preparation for the start of the school year Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Some students, especially in the many rural areas within Los Fresnos CISD, have no broadband internet availability.

"Wifi Available" signs will be placed at strategic areas throughout the district to help students access the internet.

District staff performed spot checks at 250 addresses in the district, which has 487 square miles. More than half of the district's nearly 11,000 students live in rural areas.

Los Fresnos CISD is aware that internet access will be a challenge for many students and is doing everything possible to remove obstacles. Parents looking for affordable internet options in their areas may contact the AT&T Access program to fit their needs. Information on the program can be found at this link.
