Parents invited to learn about middle school band

The workshop, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., will give fifth-grade students interested in middle-school band the opportunity to try playing the instruments and select the ones that fit them best.

Parents are invited to ask questions about the middle school band programs. They may come anytime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. The instrument tryout process takes no more than 20 minutes per student.

Fifth-grade students will begin making choices this spring for electives as sixth grade next for the 2020-21 school year.

Attending will be the band directors from each of the three Los Fresnos CISD middle schools – Criselda Marroquin-Morrell, Bryan Morrell and Jerry Morales of Los Cuates Middle School; Brian Kuntz, Cristina Vastano and John Randolph of Liberty Memorial Middle School; and Abel Gomez, Javier Moran and Bob Vastano of Resaca Middle School.

The band directors will also be visiting with the elementary schools of their zoned campuses throughout February.
