Tickets are available for a synergistic celebration by Ballet Nepantla with its production of “Valentina,” a historical ballet that celebrates the strength and resilience of women during Revolutionary Mexico.

The public performance is scheduled at 6 p.m. Monday, March 25, at LFHS.

Performances by the LFHS/Los Fresnos United Stars Dance Team and Folklorico will precede the Ballet's show.

"Valentina" is the newest production produced by Ballet Nepantla, which fuses contemporary dance with Mexican folklorico. It is a collection of stories that speak to the strength and resilience of women during Revolutionary Mexico. By fusing contemporary ballet with traditional Mexican folklorico, "Valentina" tells stories of struggles and triumph, and explores the spaces between love and hate, hope and despair.

Ballet Nepantla's founder and Artistic Director Andrea Guajardo is a native of Edinburg. She began her training in ballet and folkloric at Dancentre of Edinburg. She moved to New York at age 17 and graduated from Fordham University with a degree in dance in 2013.

In the 17-member company, one other member is from the Rio Grande Valley. Dancer Francesca Iannelli grew up in McAllen and earned her bachelor's degree in dance from Texas State University.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Tickets are available at the District Service Center located at 600 N. Mesquite St. in Los Fresnos or at this ticket sales page.
