It's Rodeo Week for Los Fresnos CISD next week, as Los Fresnos celebrates the 28th Annual Los Fresnos PRCA Rodeo.

Students throughout the district will be dressed in blue jeans and western wear from Feb. 13-18 for the Los Fresnos tradition. Several school activities are also planned.  Staff throughout the district will be able to wear blue jeans throughout the week as well.

All Los Fresnos CISD schools will participate in the annual Rodeo Parade Saturday through the city with dance groups, bands and other performers.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Second and Alamo Streets next to the Los Fresnos Community Building. This year's parade will follow traditional parade routes, going east on Second Street and turning north on Arroyo Boulevard. The parade concludes at the North Parking Lot of Los Fresnos High School.

The theme of this year's parade is a "Heroes Come from Small Towns."

Students in many schools in the district FFA programs will be busy at the Cameron County Livestock Show, which runs concurrently to the Rodeo. They will be showing animals and exhibiting shop projects.

For more information about the parade and rodeo, contact the Los Fresnos Chamber of Commerce at 233-4488.
