Members of Ford Next Generation Learning and RGV LEAD got an up close look at Career and Technical Education programs during a visit to Los Fresnos High School.

The group heard presentations from administrators and students alike. They also toured several CTE programs at LFHS.

Ford NGL and RGV LEAD focus on preparing a skilled workforce.

RGV LEAD, formerly Tech Prep of the Rio Grande Valley, is a partnership of high schools, colleges and universities, large and small businesses and governmental agencies working together for workforce development, according to its website.

Ford NGL is an organization that mobilizes educators, employers, and community leaders to prepare a new generation of young people who will graduate from high school prepared for college, careers, and life, its website says.

The tour was the first of three days of activities involving the two partnerships. The group later visited Texas State Technical College and schools in the Harlingen and La Joya school districts.
