LFHS FFA Has Strong Showing at South Texas Livestock Show

Los Fresnos High School FFA had a strong showing at the South Texas Livestock Show in San Benito Jan. 19.

 

"In my 10 years teaching, this is the best representation Los Fresnos has ever had in my 10 years teaching Agriculture," sponsor Donald Wernecke said.

 

LFHS had more than 14 breed and res breed champions, two scholarship winners, and several first, second and third place Livestock judging awards. 

 

Champions and Winners included:

  • Grand Champion Hog: Calley Crouch
  • Res.Champion Hog: Tristen Cruz
  • Grand Champion Steer: Ty Vasquez
  • Grand Champion Goat: Mike Cargill
  • Res. Champion Goat: Maddie Stephens
  • Breed Champion Lamb: Brittany Cambell

Los Fresnos FFA will next compete in the Cameron County Livestock Show Jan. 31-Feb. 3 as part of the annual Los Fresnos PRCA Rodeo.
